These students have fallen behind and have demonstrated a lack of motivation to take the initiative and responsibility for their learning. The L4T mission addresses this mounting problem in our communities and schools. “Many of our children have found themselves on the wrong side of the achievement gap for too long”, states Al Lockett, founder and President/CEO of the company whose philosophy is every child can learn if given the right tools, proper instruction and enough time.
Since its inception in 2005, L4T has been dedicated to researching the use of technology and proven methodologies to accelerate learning, then refining and deploying its unique offerings to a wide range of school systems, from small rural districts to large urban districts.
In 2006 Quality After-School Programs, LLC (QAP) was formed to partner with school districts as a Community Based organization responsible for the programmatic development and fiscal management of 21st Century Community Learning Center grants. As a grantee QAP manages eight after school programs.
In 2007-2008, Academic School Turnaround (AST) was formed in response to the need for a high quality and effective leadership focused initiative nationally for schools/districts, looking to systematically turn around schools in academic trouble and find themselves in advanced years of school improvement status. AST Specialists are all experienced and tested retired administrators with success in turning around schools in similar situations.
